The Sierra College English Department will launch its inaugural Guest Writers Series with a program featuring Christian Kiefer and Jason Roberts. The Guest Writers Lecture Series will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in Walker Hall, Building D, Room 12, on the Rocklin Campus.
Professor Christian Kiefer is a musician, poet, novelist and widely published music journalist and scholar. He holds a Ph.D. from UC Davis and is a member of the Creative Writing Faculty at American River College. His new novel, “The Infinite Tides,” was published in July by Bloomsbury.
Professor Jason Roberts has been teaching English at Sierra College since 2001 and earned his position as a full-time instructor in 2007. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing from California State University, Long Beach, and his master’s in language and literature from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. Roberts is also a musician and a member of two Sacramento-based bands, Nice Monster and The Secret Lives of Squirrels.
This is a free event; however there is a $3 parking fee on campus. Parking permits are available at the kiosk machines throughout the parking lot.
