Sierra College Music Department presents high school honor band concert

The Sierra College Music Department will present the 30th annual Sierra College District High School Honor Band Concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Dietrich Theatre on the Rocklin campus.

Join Greg McLaughlin and the Sierra College Wind Ensembles as they host 70 of the best local high school musicians for an evening of contemporary band literature. Works to be performed include “Chester,” arranged by William Schuman; “Sleep,” Eric Whitacre’s gorgeous choral piece arranged for band; Philip Sparke’s rollicking “Merry-Go-Round”; and Franck Ticheli’s masterwork “Angels in the Architecture,” featuring Sierra College music professor and soprano Sarah McQueen-Cunningham.

The Sierra College Rocklin Campus is at 5000 Rocklin Road. Admission is free. There is a $3 parking fee. Parking permits can be purchased at machines within the campus parking lot.
