Sierra College photography student wins first place in Sacramento gallery exhibition
Sierra College congratulates photography student Elizabeth Bond for her first place award in the View Point Gallery Photographic Art Center’s fourth annual December juried exhibition, titled: “Twelve Square: A selection of photographs exploring the particular challenges and properties of the square format.”
“I considered the use of the frame to be of utmost importance when curating this year’s Viewpoint exhibition,” wrote exhibit juror Byron Wolfe, photographer and professor of communication design at California State University, Chico. “I looked for pictures where the photographer’s compositional approach recognized the unique properties of the square.”
Bond’s entry, “King’s Crystal,” was awarded first place out of 418 entries from more than 100 photographers. Overall, 74 pieces were accepted for hanging in the juried exhibition.
Bond attended the artists and members reception Dec. 7, along with her photography professor, Rebecca Gregg. Both are gallery members. The exhibit will run through Jan. 5.
The Viewpoint Photographic Art Center is at 2015 J. Street, Suite 101, Sacramento. For more information, call 441-2341 or email:email@example.com.
