The Sierra College Music Department will present a Vocal Jazz Recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, featuring the Sierra College Jazz Voices, directed by Greg McLaughlin; the Sacramento State Jazz Singers, directed by Kerry Marsh; and special guests the Kerry Marsh Singers.

The Kerry Marsh Singers are a Sacramento-based ensemble performing some of Marsh's contemporary pop vocal jazz arrangements. Aside from Marsh, the group features Julia Dollison of Vertical Voices, Sierra College's Sarah McQueen-Cunningham, current Sacramento State vocal jazz graduate teaching assistant Gaw Vang, former Sacramento State Jazz Singers Cory Cunningham and Anthony Williams, and Tim Stevenson and Brett Cole on drums and bass. The group will perform music of Stevie Wonder, Bjork, Alanis Morissette, John Mayer and more.

Also featured in this concert, along with the Sierra College Jazz Voices, will be the Sacramento State Jazz Singers, performing a set of adventuresome a capella vocal jazz selections. Sac State Vocal Jazz, now in its 10th year under Marsh's direction, has earned 11 Down Beat Magazine Student Music Awards and is recognized as one of the elite vocal jazz programs in the nation.

All proceeds benefit the Sierra College Music Department.
