Sierra College trustee in serious condition after car crash

Sierra College Trustee Elaine Rowen Reynoso is in serious condition after a car crash Sunday. According to the Associated Press, Rowen Reynoso, her husband former state Supreme Court Justice Cruz Reynoso and their grandson were injured after their rental car was struck by an SUV in Virginia. Cruz Reynoso and Elaine Rowen Reynoso are in serious condition at a Virginia hospital, according to UC Davis officials. Elaine Rowen Reynoso was elected to the Sierra College board of trustees in 2008, representing Area 4. Her area includes Rocklin Unified School District as well as Eureka, Newcastle and parts of Loomis Union school districts. She is also a commissioner for First5 Placer. Sierra College spokeswoman Sue Michaels said the family has asked for privacy during this time. “We’re wishing them both a speedy recovery,” Michaels said. ~ Lauren Gibbs and Associated Press
