Heavy winds had a hand in the outcome for the Sierra College men’s golf team Tuesday, as team leaders Stephen Edman and Kevin Lucas posted excellent rounds of 75, but it wasn’t enough at Big 8 Conference tournament No. 8. Mother Nature stepped in and kept scores high on the 6,559 yard, Par 71 course. Dave Brown of Butte was the low individual golfer, as he shot a one-over 72. Santa Rosa delivered consistent team play to win the day at Stockton’s Elkhorn Country Club with a team score of 395. The Wolverines’ 403 second-place finish keeps them in the hunt for the conference title, just two points off the lead.
