Sierra's offense misfires in season opener

One goal for Sierra College's football team in Saturday night's opener at Butte was to rush for 205 yards. The Wolverines finished with 119 yards - overall. The passing game did not come to rescue. Sam Martinez threw four interceptions in the Wolverines' 27-7 loss. Martinez's first pass of the game was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. The freshman finished 4-of-24 for 59 yards. The Wolverines will battle Sacramento City in their home opener next Saturday at 1 p.m.
