Fire crews responded at about 2 p.m. Wednesday to a small grass fire off Whitney Oaks Drive and Pebble Beach Road.

The fire, which was four acres in size, is all cleared up.

Battalion Chief John Shelton, of the Rocklin Fire Department, said the fire was suspicious in nature because there were no downed power lines or lightning or other natural causes in the area that could have started the fire.

Rocklin, Placer County Fire Station 77 and crews from Loomis and Roseville responded to the fire, which broke out by an old rock quarry.
