St. Mary's fund-raiser a resounding success

-A +A
Preservation efforts for a Rocklin landmark were in good hands at the Rocklin Historical Society's first Legacy Dinner on June 5 at Finn Hall. The purpose of the Legacy Dinner was fund raising for restoration of the old St. Mary's Church building. Finn Hall was "sold out" with more than 110 guests in attendance. A spectacular dinner was catered by Venita Rhea's restaurant with the evening musical entertainment provided by Nu-Tones & Friends band. A true cross-section of Rocklin residents gathered together to enjoy a pleasant evening of camaraderie and commitment. Attendees included interested citizens of Rocklin at large, members of the Rocklin Historical Society, representatives from every community service club, Rocklin's fire department, Rocklin city management officials and nearly all members of the Rocklin City Council. In all, the evening event raised more than $30,000 from donations, pledges and in-kind services to restore St. Mary's. The Historical Society is proud of the interest, commitment and generosity of Rocklin's citizens. A past with a future is the legacy of the evening. Roger F. Lokey, President, Rocklin Historical Society
