Storey takes over as Rocklin mayor

Rocklin Vice Mayor Brett Storey was named mayor on Dec. 13. Rocklin City Council members selected Storey to serve a one-year term. Council member Peter Hill was appointed vice mayor. The largely ceremonial position puts Storey in charge of running the city council’s bi-monthly meetings. Storey was first elected to the council in 2000. He served as Mayor in 2004 and 2008. Storey and his wife, Corinne, a second-grade teacher in Rocklin, and their three children have lived in Rocklin for 19 years. The new mayor coaches baseball and has been an assistant varsity coach at Whitney High School. He is a senior management analyst for the Placer County Planning Natural Resources Department. Storey earned a B.S. degree in business administration from California State University, Chico in 1982 and attended USC to earn an advanced degree in systems engineering. ~ Staff report
