Suspect found with 28 grams of marijuana

An alert neighbor led to the arrest of a male subject for illegal drug possession Oct. 26. At 3:06 a.m. Rocklin Police Officers were called to the area of the 2700 block of Genesse Drive for a report of a possible burglary in progress. When officers arrived, the reporting party pointed out where he had last seen a male subject looking in a car just down the street. Officers checked the area and found a subject hiding in the bushes. During the patrol investigation prescription medicine, for which the subject did not have a prescription, and marijuana were found on the individual. Michael Dean Castro, 19, of Roseville, was arrested for possession of narcotics, possession of medication without a prescription, and possession of marijuana in access of 28.5 grams. He was booked into Placer County Jail and is being held on $10,000 bail. “The watchful eyes of our residents can only benefit the community and the police department when combating crime in our neighborhoods,” said Lt. Lon Milka. At the time no vehicles could be located from which property had been stolen. ~Staff report
