It doesn’t have to be Independence Day for your pets to be frightened by fireworks. The Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, would like to remind pet owners to keep their pets inside, especially during the evening hours. The Placer SPCA recommends that pets be kept in a quiet, familiar area on Fourth of July night and any time loud noises are nearby. If your pet does get lost, a tag and microchip may make the difference in getting him or her back home. If you have questions regarding animal care and behavior, contact the Placer SPCA at 782-7722 or visit www.placerspca.org.
