Takin' a trip to the kitchen

Sierra Elementary third-graders took a trip to Paul Martin’s American Bistro in Roseville Monday for a tour through the kitchen. Chef Josh Korn of Paul Martin’s showed students the food preparation area and butter lettuce, freshly pulled from the ground, he said. Students also toured the walk-in refrigerator and enjoyed a lunch of grilled cheese and fries. The students at Sierra in Rocklin are part of the “Edible Education” program sponsored by Paul Martin’s, where youngsters are taught first-hand the principals of organic gardening through their school garden.
