Thieves target catalytic converters

-A +A
Sometime during the night of Jan. 10 and morning of Jan. 11, thieves took at least 10 catalytic converters from Toyota vehicles in Rocklin, reported Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka. The area hit the hardest was the Pinnacles Drive area of Rocklin near S. Whitney Blvd. Vehicle owners within the city of Roseville were also targeted. Rocklin Police are encouraging residents to park their vehicles inside garages or in a secure side yard. Motion detector lights on the exterior of the residence may also be a deterrent to thieves, Lt. Milka noted. Residents should report any suspicious activity or individuals by calling the Rocklin Police Department’s non-emergency line at (916) 625-5400. If witnessing a crime in progress, residents should call 9-1-1, added Lt. Milka.
