Three arrested after following, shooting in Rocklin
By: Staff report
On Nov. 30 in the middle of the night, the Rocklin Police Department received an emergency telephone call. The caller reported that a vehicle was following her and that an occupant of the other vehicle had fired a gun at her vehicle. Rocklin Police officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Pacific Street and Rocklin Road within a few minutes of the call. Three occupants of the vehicle were detained and a small caliber handgun was recovered. During the investigation, the victim told police that she and two friends had been at the Tropicana nightclub on Arden Way in Sacramento earlier that evening. When the victims left in their vehicle, they noticed a vehicle following them to Interstate 80 from the area of the Tropicana nightclub. The vehicle continued to follow the victims into Rocklin. The victims stopped their vehicle on South Grove Street when an occupant of the other vehicle (a black Lincoln Navigator) exited the vehicle and fired a pistol at the victims’ vehicle. There were no reported injuries as a result of the shooting. It is believed that the suspects in this case randomly targeted the victims in Sacramento with the intention of robbing them. Residents of the South Grove Street neighborhood later told police they heard gunshots during the time this crime was reported. Three suspects were arrested as a result of the investigation. Felipe Ortega, 26 , Omar Lozano Villicana, 18, and Mirna Corral, 35 year-old female were arrested. All suspects are from Sacramento. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Rocklin Police Department.
