FAIR OAKS _ Taking on their fourth Sacramento Bee-ranked opponent, the Rocklin High football team came up one point and six seconds short of defeating No. 14 Del Campo Friday. The Cougars’ last-second score gave the home team a 21-20 victory. Junior quarterback Logan Webb has proved he can do a very credible job filling in for the injured Daniel Kniffin. Webb threw for three touchdown passes and no interceptions in 25 attempts. Senior running back Raymon Kendall did the yeoman’s job, carrying the ball 20 times. But his 67 yards matched with Webb’s minus 20 left the Thunder three short of 50 yards on the night. Webb added 163 yards through the air, hitting Cory Burmester and Dominic Giampaoli with four passes each. One of Burmester’s catches was for a touchdown and Spencer Gregg made good on his receptions to add two more TDs. A missed extra point did in Rocklin as the Thunder went into halftime trailing 14-6. Rocklin hosts No. 13 Inderkum Friday. The Tigers are coming off a big win over No. 3 Pleasant Grove and remained undefeated in three games.
