Toast of the Town event benefits Rocklin teen program

The Toast of the Town, a wine tasting, dinner and auction will take place from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Rocklin Sunset Center located at 2650 Sunset Blvd. An auction and raffle will take place 6-8pm. Tickets are $50 per person and are now available for purchase at the Rocklin Sunset Center. Must be 21 or older to attend. More than 20 wineries will feature their top wines along with 30 local chefs, restaurants and community leaders that will be serving the many gourmet dishes. This will be the second year a local art show will be featured at this event. Artists will display their art during the wine tasting. Many of the art pieces may also be available for purchase during the show. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be directed to the city of Rocklin Station Xtreme after-school teen program. The city of Rocklin began offering this after-school program for teens in 2000. Today, there are more than 300 teens registered in the program. Station Xtreme is a safe, drug-free, violence-free environment for Rocklin’s growing population of teens. Participants receive mentoring, help with homework and take part in numerous social activities. This program was developed to help protect the community while providing safe places for teens to go after school. Station Xtreme centers operate five days a week during school and summer months at both Rocklin middle schools.
