Tri-City 11 All Stars now in Section tournament in Roseville

ROSEVILLE _ The Tri-City 11-year-old All Stars did not let up after winning the District 11 All Stars Tournament and was 3-0 at the Section 4 tournament after defeating both Lakeside and Land Park over the weekend and making a comeback Monday to defeat West Sacramento 3-2 in extra innings. In a pitcher?s duel, Adam Nivinski went 5 2/3 innings before Dominick Souto came on in relief. Trailing 2-1, Tri-City scored in the sixth inning on Charlie McBride?s sacrifice fly to center field. Casey Frey slid under the tag at home to tie the game. Souto then doubled in the winning run in the eighth inning. Tri-City 9, Lakeside 2 ? July 15 Tri-City?s Souto put the cap on a nine-run first inning with a three-run home run to help give his team a 9-2 victory Sunday. The club also got a key hit from Jacob Perez. Limiting any notion Lakeside might have of a comeback were pitchers Chase Webb, Chandler Dakin and Nivinski. Tri-City 14, Lake Park 4 ? July 14 Tri-City opened the tournament with a decisive four-inning win over Lake Park Saturday. Peyton Gaudet and Aiden Williams sparked a seven-run rally in the third inning to essentially seal the fate of the District 7 champions. Souto had two doubles in the contest. Shutting down the Lake Park offense were hurlers Nivinski, Souto, Levi Bare and Dakin.
