Tri-City Little League’s Major all-stars crushed West Sacramento 11-0 on Tuesday night in Granite Bay to advance to the Section 4 championship. Tri-City will have to beat Lakeside of Granite Bay twice to win the title. The teams play tonight and will play again Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Feist Park in Granite Bay if necessary. The winner will advance to the regional round in Danville next week. Trenton Homan started on the mound for Tri-City on Tuesday and pitchers Ben Murphy and Logan Webb helped him complete the shutout. The trio limited West Sacramento to just three hits. Tri-City’s Jacob Erickson, Homan and Jeffery Henry hit back-to-back-to-back homers in the fourth inning to highlight the blowout victory. Tri-City slugger Brandon Espley homered later in the game. Tri-City, facing elimination, also beat Fair Oaks 11-3 on Monday as Espley, Dylan Smethurst, Homan and Joey Rohmer were the pitchers. Espley homered in the win. West Sacramento beat Tri-City 3-2 on Sunday despite two homers off the bat of Espley. Quinn Connolly hit a two-run shot early in the game to put West Sacramento up 2-0. Henry was solid on the mound for Tri-City. “Connolly is a monster, a 6-foot man-child, and that’s something you don’t see (at the Major level),” Tri-City manager Richard Rohmer said. West Sacramento won the game on a walk-off homer by Kristian Heptner with one out in the last of the sixth inning. Tri-City also blew out Land Park on Saturday, the first game of the Section 4 tournament.
