At about 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Rocklin police officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area of Granite Drive and Sierra Meadows Drive. There were two female occupants of the vehicle. Officers quickly discovered the driver was driving on a suspended license and had warrants for her arrest, according to a report from the Rocklin Police Department.

Inside the suspect vehicle, officers located mail that had been stolen from throughout Placer County, the report said.

“It appears the suspects had taken the personal mail from residents of Meadow Vista, Colfax and Applegate,” according to the report. “Additionally, inside of the vehicle officers found drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.”

The two female suspects were booked at the Placer County Jail. Arrested were Kimberly Jackson, 37, and Leslie McCarrick, 38, both of Sacramento.

Officers contacted an inspector with the U.S. Postal Service and a joint investigation has begun. The Rocklin Police Department encourages citizens who believe they have been the victim of mail theft to contact their local law enforcement agency.
