Two men were arrested early Sunday morning following the burglary of a Granite Drive business, reported Rocklin Police Lt. Jamie Knox. Rocklin Police arrested Kreig Michael Bettencourt, 44, of Modesto and Colby Dean Osborne, 27 of Columbia, shortly after 12:30 a.m. Within a minute of receiving the report of a silent alarm activation, Rocklin Police arrived at Camping World and observed a white SUV leaving the area. Another officer responding to the call spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it. However, the driver refused to stop and headed for Interstate 80. When he finally pulled over, his passenger jumped from the car and fled on foot. He was apprehended after a foot pursuit that ended in the commercial district of Granite Drive, Lt. Knox continued. Several stolen generators and narcotics were found inside the suspect’s vehicle. Bettencourt is now facing charges of burglary, committing a felony while on felony bail, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance Osborne is facing the same charges as well as the charge of resisting arrest. Both were booked at the Placer County Jail.
