Two in a row for Grewohl
Bobby Grewohl owned the asphalt at All American Speedway in Roseville Saturday night, as he raced his Toyota Camry to his second consecutive Late Model victory.
Grewohl, from Bill McAnally racing, raced Jonathan Mawhinney side-by-side in the first few laps, but after that he distanced himself from the rest of the field and easily took the checkered flag in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series event.
"The car is good right now," Grewohl said. "We're not going to stop. We are just going to keep pouring it on and ride this wave of momentum all the way in."
McAnally, the owner of the car, was thrilled to see his drive in the winner’s circle.
"Grewohl is a heck of a driver and he is doing a great job for our team,” McAnally said. “He is definitely showing that he has what it takes. We are just as happy as we can be."
McAnally also challenged 2007 NASCAR Whelen Late Model champion Eric Schmidt to come out and race Grewohl.
"We’re hoping that we can get Eric Schmidt and some other guys out here and run with them,” McAnally said. “We are looking forward to that. That No. 05 is a goal for us. We want to beat him. We're calling him out."
IN OTHER AAS RACING NEWS: Jim McGinnis won in the Bomber division; Mickey Owens won his second consecutive Street Stock race; Robbie Roy won in Baby Grands and Tommy McCarthy won in Mini Cup.
All American Speedway will host Whelen Night at the track with Late Model, Street Stock, Modified and Bomber racing this Saturday night.
