Rocklin High’s undefeated varsity football team will host Skyline of Oakland on Friday night. The Thunder (3-0) and the Titans (1-2) will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Rocklin will then close the non-league schedule at Napa on Oct. 9 before opening Sierra Foothill League play against visiting Woodcreek on Oct. 16. Rocklin, averaging nearly 48 points-per-game, beat visiting Las Lomas 62-35 on Friday and has outscored its opponents 143-103 this year. Rocklin opened the season with victories at Oak Ridge (40-32) and against visiting Nevada Union (41-36). Rocklin set records in Friday’s win over Las Lomas, one for most points in a game (62) and another for longest touchdown (99 yards, interception return by Scott Polaske). The previous high for points in a game was 58 against Woodcreek in 1996. The Thunder opened against the same three teams last season and went 1-2. They ended up going 4-6 last year. “(Being 3-0) is fun, especially after last season,” said Rocklin senior running back Jackson Cummings, who rushed for five touchdowns against Las Lomas. The Titans picked up their first win of the season on Saturday when they beat Bishop O’Dowd 31-28 in Oakland. They opened the season with losses to Pitman of Turlock (42-6) and Concord (64-6).
