Hear first hand what’s in store for the city of Rocklin in the new year at the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual sellout event, State of the City. Scheduled to take place on Friday, Feb. 27 at Coach’s Restaurant, 5681 Lonetree Blvd. in Rocklin, State of the City will feature Rocklin City Manager Carlos Urrutia as the keynote speaker. Urrutia will be highlighting Rocklin’s schools, civil services, residential and commercial development, 2008 accomplishments and the overall budget. Area dignitaries and key business people are expected to attend, with a special presentation planned. “I look forward to State of the City every year,” said Todd Lowell, owner of Lowell Development Inc. and immediate past Chamber chairman. “It provides me with an opportunity to connect with local business people and VIPs as well as be one of the first to hear what the city of Rocklin has planned for the upcoming year.” A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available, which can give businesses a head start on marketing for 2009. Each sponsorship includes tickets to the event and tremendous exposure for the company. Prices start at $150 for an event booth to promote the business or for a “Train Depot” sponsorship. Additional categories are available for $250, $500 and $1,000 and all include event tickets, business name in the event program and at least one PowerPoint slide that will run before and after the speaker. “As a new member, we look forward to attending State of the City and showcasing our business with a booth sponsorship,” said Connie Aaron with First Bank in Rocklin. “We see this as a key event to mix with business and local leaders and an opportunity to become more involved with the Chamber.” Tickets to the event are expected to sell out well in advance. Individual tickets are $50 for Chamber members and $60 for non-members and include a buffet lunch. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register online at For more information, contact the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce at 624-2548.
