Antelope resident Daniel Wayne Phillips, 34, was arrested on Nov. 17 by Rocklin Police on suspicion of multiple vehicle burglaries, according to a citizen alert issued Friday morning. A Rocklin patrol officer had been watching a suspicious vehicle driving through a residential neighborhood around 4 a.m. when the driver abruptly pulled into a driveway, then ran to the side of the residence and disappeared. The officer contacted the homeowner, who indicated the vehicle did not belong there nor was a visitor expected. He searched the neighborhood, but did not find the suspect. A few minutes later, a resident in another neighborhood reported seeing a suspicious male walking down the street. When officers contacted Phillips, they found stolen property from a vehicle burglary that had occurred in Roseville earlier in the week. In the abandoned vehicle, they found numerous “shaved keys” as well as additional stolen property from other vehicle burglaries that occurred in neighboring communities. Phillips, who is on probation, is facing charges of possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property. As the investigation continues, Rocklin Police anticipate additional charges may be made. -- Gloria Beverage
