Wagner, Madden to wed

Hermosa Beach residents Katherine Marie Wagner and Sean Robert Madden have announced their plans to marry. Madden proposed on Aug. 21 on the front steps of the administration building on the campus of the University of California, Irvine. The couple first met in French class at the university. Madden proposed on what would have been the 62nd wedding anniversary of his paternal grandparents, Barbara Jean and James E. Madden Sr. Their dachshund, Rosco, was on hand for the joyful occasion. The daughter of Jim and Ann Wagner of Rocklin graduated from Rocklin High School in 2004. She completed her studies at the University of California, Irvine in 2008. Currently, Wagner is completing her PhD in critical studies of cinema and television at the University of Southern California. The son of Bob and Mary Madden of San Diego graduated from Rancho Bernardo High School in 2006. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 2010 and is currently employed as legal assistant for Hawkins, Delafield, and Wood LLP. The couple is planning to be wed on March 17.
