On an emotional Senior Day, the William Jessup University women's soccer team capped an undefeated run through the California Pacific Conference North Division with a 1-0 double overtime victory over Menlo College on Jessup field last week.

Seniors Hekla Goodman, Perla Aguilar (Lincoln), Gabby Leon, Katie Rappazzo and Elli Tremblay (Roseville) were honored with a ceremony before the game.

The Warriors were sluggish but used a solid defense to force the match into overtime. Leon then found Cara Eskenazi open for an assist and the sophomore put it in for the win.

The Warriors outshot Menlo 22-6, including 13-5 in shots on goal. Rappazzo had five saves for the Warriors.

William Jessup closed out the regular season 6-0 in conference and 12-3-2 overall. It was the Warriors first CPAC unbeaten season in school history. The Warriors tied a school record with eight straight wins for a season. Eskenazi scored her 12th goal of the season, one goal away from Sandy Hanania’s 13 in 2008.

The Warriors travel to Southern California for the first CPAC Championships next weekend.
