Whitney boys drop two in CAL play

After two tough outings, the Whitney boys unfortunately earned two losses. Playing El Camino last Friday, the Wildcats were off to a rough start, losing in the first quarter 21-7. However, the boys were able to turn things around, outscoring El Camino by 12 points in the second quarter. Things for the Wildcats continued well into the third quarter, entering the first quarter with a one point lead. But, as the game progressed through the fourth quarter, the boys fell short. Senior, Evan Orrick led in scoring, earning 16 points, with Junior, Nolan Eger following close behind, with 14. Rio Americano 64, Whitney 59 _ Whitney played an even game against the Raiders. Battling through the first half the Wildcats stayed with Rio Americano. As the game moved into the third quarter Rio Americano broke the score open by outscoring Whitney by 13 points. Orrick led the Wildcats with 16 points. Seniors, Sean Smith and Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick each scored 14. Whitney hosts Antelope this Friday to conclude their league season.
