The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced that Kavya Pathak is a National Merit finalist. Pathak is one of 8,000 students across the country being considered for National Merit scholarships.

Pathak, a senior at Whitney High School, was selected based on her 2011 PSAT score. She then competed nationally with a comprehensive application, essay and recommendation from Whitney High School.
