The Whitney High School Girls Dance Team set a school record with its placement at the United Spirit Association Dance/Drill Nationals at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa March 29-30. The team placed third in Championship Kick, fifth in Championship Hip-Hop and sixth in Championship Jazz categories.

In an email, head coach Amber O’Brien commended the girls for their hard-won success.

“They really worked hard all season, and it truly paid off with their placement at nationals,” she wrote. “This was the best any dance team at WHS had ever placed on a national level. The venue sat over 3,000 people, so that was a reward during their performances in itself.”
