A 17-point lead was not enough Friday night for Whitney High School's football team, which fell to 2-2 with a 35-31 loss at home to Christian Brothers. An 81-yard touchdown pass with 1:22 to play doomed the Wildcats, who led 14-0 in the first quarter. Corey Palin caught a 54-yard scoring pass from Jake Rodriguez to give Whitney a two-touchdown lead. Palin then added a 30-yard field goal to make it 17-0.
