Whitney opens league with win over Mira Loma
Cats roll 63-42

The Whitney High girls basketball team got off to a good start in the Capital Athletic League by handing visiting Mira Loma a 63-42 defeat, Friday.
The Wildcats held their turnovers to a minimum and post player Masirah Holmes came up big with near double-double. Holmes scored 16 in the contest and pulled down nine rebounds.
Whitney attempted only seven shots from beyond the 3-point arc and connected on two; both by point guard Kristin Ladas. Alex Rodriguez led the club with 17 points and eight rebounds; the ‘Cats had 23 boards in all and turned the ball over only 14 times.
Whitney entertained Mira Loma, Wednesday, and travel to El Camino for a game Friday.
