Whitney pins big loss on Mira Loma in CAL wrestling
The Whitney High wrestling team got little more than a good workout against visiting Mira Loma and rolled to a 60-18 victory Tuesday night. Twelve of the Marauders points came on forfeit.
The only defeats the Wildcats suffered were by points in the 145 and 160-pound weight classes. All of Whitney’s wins were by fall.
Forfeits were even as Whitney had to surrender bouts at 220 pounds and heavyweight divisions; the ‘Cats picked up forfeit points at 113 and 120 pounds.
Whitney head coach Dan Parker said the visitors were a young team and not at full strength. However, he was pleased with his club’s showing and said his squad was young as well.
He said the real test will come in the next two weeks when the Wildcats host El Camino next Wednesday and Antelope Jan. 29.
