Whitney wraps up basketball campaign with Cordova loss

Whitney’s boys basketball team ended their 2012-13 campaign suffering a loss to visiting Cordova 63-46 Tuesday night.

The Wildcats finished their Capital Athletic League schedule with a 2-8 record, placing fifth in the standings.

With Cordova’s Jordan Roberson leading the way with 11 points in the second period, the Lancers assumed the lead going into the break. Cordova only improved their lead in the second half to close out their season at 6-4.

Whitney’s Matt Gruber ended his senior finale with a team-high 12 points.

Before the game, the Wildcats said farewell to Gruber, Soren Smith, JR Day, Diego Rosales, Ryan Gee, and Nolan Eger.
