This is a great opportunity for active retirees, students and working professionals. Male volunteers and bilingual volunteers are especially encouraged to apply. There’s no prior legal or social work experience required, just a clean background check, a stellar interview, completion of training and the necessary desire and ability to work with these kids and the court system.

Whole Foods Market in Roseville will host a toy drive Saturday, Dec. 15, for the foster children and at-risk youth who are safeguarded by Child Advocates of Placer County.
Bring an unwrapped toy to Whole Foods Market between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and enjoy Christmas festivities, including hot beverages, crafts and pictures with Santa. With each toy donation, patrons will receive a free 4-by-6-inch photo with Saint Nick, hot chocolate and a candy cane. All the toys provided on the day will be given to Child Advocates of Placer County, to then be gifted to the many foster children in Placer communities.
Child Advocates of Placer County is a nonprofit organization that recruits and trains community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children and/or to mentor at-risk youth.
“We are excited to support the important work of CAPC in an event that will help spread holiday cheer ... even to children who have been separated from their families,” said Jill Miller, community relations manager at Whole Foods Market. “Every child deserves to have a happy Christmas.”
CAPC manages the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, the Adult to Youth Mentoring Program and the Family Mentoring program. The ultimate goal of CAPC is to recruit, train and supervise volunteers to be a voice and mentor for children who are abused, neglected or at-risk.
Whole Foods is at 1001 Galleria Blvd., Roseville. For more information on the Toy Drive, visit the Whole Foods Events Calendar at www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/roseville.
