Wildcats bounce back with win over Christian Brothers

SACRAMENTO _ The Whitney High School varsity football team defeated Christian Brother on the road 41-13, last Friday. Wildcats’ quarterback Jake Rodrigues completed 15 of 24 passes for 181 yards, with one touchdown and one interception in the win. Senior Christian Daniels was the Wildcats’ leading rusher. Daniels ran the ball 13 times for 132 yards and three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving). He also caught four passes for 76 yards. Senior tight end Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick caught six passes for 60 yards. Junior defensive back Jordan Powell led Whitney with six tackles in the victory. The Wildcats are now 3-1 and host Woodcreek on Friday, 7:30 p.m. Whitney’s first Capital Athletic League game is at Mira Loma, Oct. 8, 1 p.m.
