Wildcats close with loss to Antelope

ANTELOPE _ The Whitney High girls basketball team closed out their 2011-12 campaign against Antelope and came up on the short end of a 70-45 score. The ‘Cats stayed within five at the end of the first period, but the Titans increased their lead with a 19-8 run before the end of the half. That put Whitney in a catch up situation, which Antelope turned to their favor. Senior Alex Rodriguez refused to be denied and ended her sterling career by scoring 22 points. Junior Kristin Ladas also broke free to score 17. Whitney senor Jacara Givhan also closed out her basketball career with two points. But Givhan looks forward to soccer, which is her favorite sport. The Lady Wildcats finished with a league record of 3-7 in the Capital Athletic League, and 8-18 overall.
