With overcast skies and a hard wind blowing, the Whitney High varsity baseball team kept their Capital Athletic League record perfect with a 3-2 win over visiting Antelope Tuesday.

The Wildcats stand atop the CAL standings with a 6-0 record and have extended their winning streak to 18 games.

Drew Romo pitched a solid seven innings for the win, despite allowing seven hits and three base-on-balls.

Antelope seemed poised to score runs as they were able to get the lead-off runner on board on five occasions. But Romo stayed tough and kept the Titans to only two runs.

Backing Romo’s pitching performance, the Whitney offense did just enough as Jacob Erickson scored on an error and Austin Harris on a passed ball.

What turned out to be the winning run came in the third inning, as JR Robinson hit a standup triple on the first pitch.

On the second pitch of the inning, Trevor Abrams singled to left field to score Robinson.
