Wildcats top Hillmen 33-14 to finish 6-4 in JV football

Whitney High’s junior varsity football team topped visiting Placer 33-14 on Friday night. Whitney won its last four games of the season to finish 6-4. The Wildcats rushed for over 220 yards in the win over the Hillmen (7-3). Whitney’s offensive line was strong all night with Sean O'Brien, Derick Caron, Kyle Lindgren, Cameron Rodriquez, Kirk Templin, Gabe Corral and Greg Holm getting the job done up front. Whitney’s Christian Daniels combined for over 100 yards with rushing and receiving and had an exciting run of 25 yards, going back and fourth across the field, that fired up the crowd. Zonly Looman, Jordon Powell and JT Hirsch each had rushing touchdowns for Whitney and quarterback Amit Sekhon threw for over 100 yards. One of his passes was a 60-yard bomb to Aidan Hawkins in the third quarter. Whitney’s defensive standouts were Alex Ewing, Steven Betz, Cody Cuccie, Tyler McCray and Joseph Atwood (interception).
