The William Jessup University Community Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Van Crane, will present a Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, on the William Jessup University campus, 333 Sunset Blvd.

The concert will include a wide variety of music, from Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” to selections from “Les Miserables.” Featured guests for the evening will be WJU’s Masterworks Chorale, under the direction of Elizabeth Stanley, as they combine with the Wind Ensemble to present selections from “Porgy and Bess” by George Gershwin.

The Wind Ensemble will also present a concert on Tuesday, April 23, at the Springfield Community Center on Park and Springfield Drive in Rocklin. Admission is free for both concerts.

The Wind Ensemble is completing its fifth year of existence as the university is expanding its instrumental music offerings. Comprising musicians from the university and community ranging in age from 16 to 80-plus years, the ensemble is open to qualified musicians who have a desire to lend their time and talents to this endeavor.

The ensemble rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays and will continue through the summer. The ensemble is open to all who wish to join. Interested musicians should contact Van Crane at vcrane@jessup.edu.
