William Jessup atop league standings after two road wins
REDDING _ The William Jessup mens basketball team came back from 17 points down to overtake Simpson University for their fifth win in the California Pacific League Feb. 3.
Previous Player of the Week, Keenan Prince put up 26 points to lead the club in its comeback. Rocklin’s Jordan Wilson tallied an even dozen and pulled down six rebounds.
The win improved the Warriors to 5-1 in the CalPac, one game ahead of Cal Maritime.

In a non-league tilt, Prince again came up with 26 points as William Jessup improved to 8-15 overall on the season last Friday.
Wilson had another strong night scoring 11 and grabbing six caroms. Teammate Marquis Robinson scored nine and had two steals.
Tonight is Cause Awareness Night against Pacific Union College (1-6, 3-16) and Saturday Cal Maritime comes to town. The Keelhaulers come in at 5-2 (19-5) and would like nothing more than to share the CalPac lead with the red-white-and-blue.
Cal Maritime Academy also features a Player of the Week athlete in Keven Campbell.
SIMPSON U 76, WILLIAM JESSUP 73
William Jessup slipped another game behind Menlo College and into a tie with Simpson (4-2) after falling to the Red Hawks Saturday night.
It was a tight battle throughout with the two teams tied at the halfway mark.
The Warriors’ Taylor Borba scored 25 and Sarah Peterson 17. Borba also had two steals and Peterson owned the boards taking 19 off the glass.
WJU will host Pacific Union tonight (0-7, 1-17) and then tangle with Cal Maritime’s Keelhaulers (3-4, 5-20) on Saturday for Senior Night.
