The William Jessup University men's basketball team earned an automatic bid into the 2010 NAIA Men's Basketball Division II National Championship tournament, scheduled for March 10-16 in Point Lookout, Missouri on the campus of College of the Ozarks. The Warriors (17-13), who earned an automatic berth into the tournament after winning the California Pacific Conference Tournament last Tuesday night, will face Bellevue University (Nebraska) in the first round at 12 p.m. (central time) Thursday. William Jessup will be making its first appearance at the NAIA National Championships. Bellevue, the MCAC regular season and tournament champion, finished the year at 25-7. Head coach Aaron Muhic is excited about the opportunity that lies ahead of his team. “This is an exciting time for the WJU Basketball program and school,” Muhic said. “Our guys continue to remain focused on the task ahead. All year long, we have talked about taking it one day and one game at a time and focusing in on the process of improving every day. We are excited to get back on the court and get back to work and prepare for a talented Bellevue team.” William Jessup fans may follow the game through live stats or purchase a live video feed by going to naia.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl-div2/2010Championship.html.
