Winners announced in corporate games events

Rocklin Recreation and Roseville Bank of Commerce took home first place medals on the opening day of the South Placer Corporate Games, according to a release from Jim Crosthwaite of South Placer Corporate Games. The games were held Sept. 20 at the Roseville Sports Center. Rocklin Recreation took home the Gold Medal in the 3x3 Basketball Tournament, as they rallied for a 18-23, 22-18, 23-17 win over Pita Pit from Lincoln. Marc Brunner led the winners with 10 points in the final game, Tourney MVP Keith Ritter scored 8 and Mike Ewing added 5. The trio played the entire tournament with only the three players, and finished undefeated. For Pita Pit, Brian Cole popped in 7 points and Kyle Mawlrey finished with 6 in the championship game. The City of Roseville defeated SureWest 2-1 to take home the bronze medal and NEC took care of Mt. Vernon Winery to claim 5th place. KPFF Consulting and Williams and Paddon Architects also competed in the 8-team tourney. In Dodgeball, Roseville Bank of Commerce turned back Origin Community Church of Rocklin 3-1 to take home the Gold Medal. After winning their bracket, the champions defeated City of Roseville 2-1 to reach the final, while Origin knocked off Black Dog Graphics 2-1 to earn their spot in the championship match. The winning team consisted of Brian Jensen, Randy Ainsworth, Jenn Linn, Danielle King, Leslie Jansen, Cody Kilmer and Courtney Cino. City of Roseville downed Black Dog Graphics 2-0 to finish with the Bronze Medals and Williams and Paddon took care of the Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy to finish 5th.
