Wolverines swing for state title

The Sierra College women’s tennis team will face off against Santa Monica College for the California Community Colleges Athletic Association State Tennis Championship today. The undefeated Wolverines are Big 8 Conference champions and looking to claim their second state title since 2007. Led by CCCA 2010 coach of the year Steve Dunmore, the Wolverines will meet the Corsairs at 1 p.m. at the Sierra Sport and Racquet Club in Fresno. Sierra has four Big 8 All-Conference members including Del Oro graduate Madison White, Courtnei Chance, Kelsey Chrisco and Ariana Paradis. The road to state championships has been paved with victories against Fresno City College on April 26 and Fresno City College on May 4. The Santa Monica College Corsairs are undefeated in Western State Conference play and 16-1 overall.
