Who is really responsible???

It really is sad to see, year after year, election after election, that most politicians get a free ride no matter how they vote or act. The current financial meltdown is a great example. Although many members of Congress (both Parties) helped create the situation that caused this meltdown, and quite a few objected to hearings several years ago that might have prevented this crisis, as far as I can see, nobody in Congress has been, or will be, held responsible. Not a single member of Congress has even hinted that maybe Congress (again both Parties) screwed up, and this screw-up will be costing we taxpayers "gazillions" of dollars of our hard earned tax money. Obviously there were many financial executives who took advantage of Congress's lack of forsight and oversight, but Congress, starting more than a decade ago, set the table for this fiasco.

I don’t know what the final bail-out tally will be, but the funds will ALL come from the complacent, “vote Party line”, “vote sound bite”, “don’t hold anybody responsible” voter/taxpayers. Party affiliation, “ear marks”, voter apathy, and campaign dollars trump common sense every time,,,, and the politicians know this and count on it.

Good thing most of the local the Republicans voted for a career politician for Congress who has NEVER accomplished anything in the way of leadership, except to demonstrate expertise in carpetbagging and holding his hand out for benefits because he learned how to work that system of living out of the district to perfection.

The new Party Motto- Bail out the career Republicans first !

You forget Bush is still President and is/was/will be vetoing everything that didn't please his determination to gut the country's finances. And that Republican majority he had the first six years.....

The writers of the law are usually way above its application.......and or its enforcement concerning their behavior. This is the way it was planned and this is the way it is written.

You clearly voted for a "career politician" for President "who has Never accomplished anything". Oh I forgot, he wrote two books about himself. No significant legislation. Do not bag on McClintock for failing to author any laws until you address the failure of Obama for the exact same thing. If you want to see some scumbaggery, look at who took the most contributions from the thieves at Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. That would members of your devious party.

CanyonRat, you should change your name to CanyonRant. You never offer any original thought or comment you just "rage at the Republican" machine. You appear to be one angry person and I don't think you would be happy, if everyone of the races you voted for went your way. Please, broaden your mind and have another beer.... maybe two.

daperera, I would just add...we must all wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and say "I too am responsible." Yes, this has been going on for years...how often do WE vote for our Representative? That's right. The most interesting thing I often hear is about everyone else's Congressman being the one that should be voted out, yet ours continues to be re-elected....
