Thank you “Rocky” for repaying the county for your flight. That time of year over the great basin area of the West there tends to be lots of thermals, making airplane rides a little bumpy. I suspect you encountered that with the small biz-jet you were riding due to its relative weight; it is more subject to convective turbulence. Larger aircraft, such as Boeing 737’s, like those flown by Southwest Airlines, are more stable in rough atmosphere, you might want to keep that thought in mind if you want a smoother flight for the next travel adventure. Oh, also, remember repaying the county does not in any form or fashion absolve poor moral character or bad ideas.
Which brings-up a whole new question. With the likelihood that your flight was, or shall we say “rocky,” the matter about who whipped-out the credit card to pay for it comes to mind. Specifically, it has been reported that County Executive Office Tom Miller flipped the plastic for the trip. H’mmmm, wonder what else he has paid for on the County’s dime, or shall we say $10,000, that has yet to surface? Tom, enlighten us as to how much it was that your direct employees were required to re-imburse the county for personal charges made on County credit cards? We will give you a little, mind you not a lot, of time to provide a public answer to that question. Shall we say by December 12th? That should provide you ample time to go back to those records and retrieve the data. After that County Auditor Martinis, or we will provide the answer. For you this should bring back not so fond memories of the Burnt Ranch School, Douglas City Core Area, the Highway 3, and Sam Lee Multi-modal TDA funds you played with when you were Trinity County’s Director of Transportation and Planning back in 1992. Ah, but questions about those issues will be with-held until after you provide us with your employee’s expenditure accounts.
Now, back to that inverted fruit bowl on Fulweiler Avenue, the Board wants the public to vote for a salary increase. Might I suggest the four other Supervisors’ ask “Rocky” to tap his savings again; this time for the salary increase that he shot down?
Placer County Board, Board of Supervisor's, County of Placer, Mis-Use of Public Funds, Fidelity??, oh, forget that!
