Thursday Feb 07 2013 comments Meals on Wheels -A +A Since she doesn’t drive, Rocklin resident Lynne Spadini has her daily Meals on Wheels delivered by volunteers with the Seniors First organization. Although 97-year-old Lucille Bent had been cooking for herself since the age of 12, the task has become too difficult for her as of late. Now through the Meals On Wheels program, she enjoys her daily meals delivered to her front door. Seniors First Volunteer Patrick Landin, left, and site manager Kat Lombardi-Weeks unload the ready-made meals (this day a Denver omelet scramble with potatoes, milk, and juice) bound for the Senior Cafe at the Rolling Oaks senior living facility. Diana Christensen of Rocklin has her meal hand-delivered to her doorstep by Seniors First volunteer Jim Lanier. Delivery driver Jim Lanier of Lincoln, who has been volunteering his time with the Seniors First organization for a year, delivers ready-made meals to seniors in Rocklin. Volunteers deliver hot meals to isolated seniors in Rocklin, and throughout Placer County, five days a week through Seniors First's Meals on Wheels program.
