The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics recently awarded William Jessup University basketball’s Keith Phillips All American Honorable Mention. Phillips is the school’s third player to receive such an honor.

"It is a great honor to see Keith recognized as an All-American and continue the success of our basketball program being recognized at the national level," said Warriors head coach Lance Von Vogt said. "We are so fortunate to have a player like Keith, who brings so much to the game.”

Von Vogt said Phillips was not only a scorer and rebounder, but made the game easier for his teammates because of his impact in so many areas on both offense and defense.

In his first two seasons on the hardwood, Phillips made an impact for the Warriors and beyond. Phillips not only led the team scoring 501 points this season, he also had the second-highest scoring average (16.7) in the Golden State Athletic Conference. His 239 rebounds (8 per game) were the highest on the team.
"I always knew Keith had the talent to earn All-American accolades, but what I am most proud of is the growth I've witnessed in him as a person," Von Vogt said. "Keith has truly embraced the journey of becoming the best version of himself. He has endured many life trials only to bounce back stronger and more resolute in his approach to reaching his goals in the classroom and on the court."
With his senior season still ahead, Phillips is already well on his way to making his mark in the Jessup men's basketball record book.
Von Vogt can't wait to see the continued progress Phillips will make as a national player.

"Great news is that Keith will be returning for his senior season next year, where he will be one of the players capable of earning national player of the year honors,” Von Vogt said.
