Tuesday Nov 25 2008 comments Randy Peters donates dinners to Rocklin police, fire By: Photos by Ashley Baer/The Placer Herald -A +A Randy Peters carves a turkey. "I do this because they [the firefighters and police officers] protect us. They put their lives on the line for us." Peters has donated food to the Rocklin PD and FD for the past five years and this Thanksgiving will donate to the Citrus Heights PD and FD, since they relocated to a Citrus Heights address. Lead cook Luis Avalos prepares mashed potatoes for transport. The turkey comes with corn-bread stuffing and sugar glazed grapes, and this is what the firefighters and police officers when they peel back the foil. Every year, Randy Peters Catering donates Thanksgiving meals, including butter-glazed turkey, green bean and candied yams, to the Rocklin fire departments and police departments. Randy Peters, right, with the help of chef Christina Murray and lead cook Luis Avalos, prepares to-go boxes filled with delicious food. Chef Christina Murray ladles gravy in to-go boxes. All the meals will be delivered on Wednesday, complete with pumpkin pie for dessert and re-heating instructions to prepare the meal on Thanksgiving Day.
